I wanna go to India!

Went to the "Messe" for books today and swept all the books I want with 20% discount, not a bad deal.

Got books for 3 countries:
1. Nepal
2. India
3. Kenya

Yesssssss i want to go to these places. Other dream destination includes Morocco, Peru, Tibet... etc. Don't ask me why, maybe it's only because of a scene in the movies or a photo in the newspaper. Anyway, I want to go.

I miss my traveling days. Guess I’ve spent all the euros traveling. One thing I wished to do but never had chance last year was going all the way by train from Vienna to Athens. I cancelled the plan upon thinking that I need visa for around 5 or 6 different countries (it sucks).

Yeah but I want to discover asia eagerly. After one year of euro-trip I discovered I know actually very few things for the countries around me. Though I have been to many of them, actually I only remembered the resorts and the beach.

Brief conclusion: I want traveling!

Learn to be common

Getting even lazier with the vacation...

Tired of looking for a job. Come what may. I dunno why I can get so depressed providing I already have a job offer now. Maybe I demand too much. Maybe it’s because I was taught to become the top, and now finally I discover I am not. Well, I am not sorry for that anyway. Why everybody has to study MBA, work in investing bank and earning millions of USD every year? I only wish to have enough money (and time!) to go backpacking every year. This sounds so sinful to my society. Come on look at the Chinese, look at the Indians, look at the Koreans, who are so lazy like you!

I WANT TO MOVE!!!

Contrast to most of the people, I am not happy at home. Taipei is a great city to live but somehow it just doesn't suit me. Okay, there’s no perfect country or perfect city in the world. And I DO know how difficult it is to be a permanent foreigner; especially I do have a look different from many Europeans or Americans. However I hate the feeling that: in Europe I am a foreigner, but in Taiwan I still find myself foreign, because of my ways of thinking, because of my foreign boyfriend, and because of many other things.

Yes, I am too sensitive.

I really like my city and my country. I love many aspects of Taiwanese culture; it’s in my blood and I am never going to eliminate that. I am a Taiwanese and I am proud to be. But I just can’t agree with many things happening here, and I just could not become an elite that the society expects me to become, or at least the same mild as everybody else.

After one exchange year I found that many friendships hardly survive the distance. I don't know whether it’s because we are in the last year of university and people become selfish of their own stuff. The friends that I usually hanged out with start to give me all kinds of excuse to refuse your invitation, and some DOES sound ridiculous. Who has changed? Maybe all of us have.

Only true friends remain, but it’s sad that some of them plan to move to another countries and carry on their studies or life there, which means in a couple of years, there will be less and less reason for me to stay here.

Next destination??

Next week i have to take IELTS exam (google definition: International English Language Testing System), to be short, a fucking exam to decide if I know sufficient English to study a master degree in UK. Well I am not really nervous about that. However after a year speaking English with people from all nationalities, my pidgin English (mixed with German, Spanish…) and funny strange accent really freaks me out. No matter how much James Joyce I have read in these few months. God bless those suffering moments.

Last month I received the offer of University of Bristol, which was very good news to me. I don’t know why I am so keen to be back to Europe. To be honest, I came back to my original life really soon after coming back from Linz. I learned once again to dive in the city and to be a person like everybody else. I know the city well, and I am cozy with this familiarity.

Only I know that something in my mind has changed. I miss Europe, and I miss the freedom that no one recognizes me. I can disguised to be anyone I want to be. I don't need to care too much about what other people thinks. I was pretty lonely in Europe, but somehow I feel more here. Actually I feel more like being forgotten.

“The relationship is nice but the distance is cruel.” I don't remember where I read this sentence, sad though, but true.

In the end the relationship is the strongest driver to move people around the world? Maybe, though I don't really want to admit, as my pride doesn't allow me to.

The end of semester and the end of the world

ohhhhhhhh my nightmare has finally finished.

What a crazy semester and crazy finals with the load of 2 years.... I don't even know how i could have those 8 exams done in two weeks.

Suddenly realized that my world shrinked to several places since September: Uni, cafe, Starbucks, german class, spanish class. I haven't visit my favorite cinema for months, nor have i done any small trips like before, no relaxing moment no nothing. Sometimes i felt that i am such a dull person, and i missed the freedom that i could hop on the train at any moment and get away from the reality.

Well the semester has gone, and i dont mean to set up a blog for complaining, altho most of the time i love to complain.

Today the weather was warm like hell in Taiwan. Okay i know taiwan is never too cold but this is too much. WTF is a winter day with 25 degrees?

Went to the night market in Shih-lin and tucked as many things as possible in my stomach. Havent been here for 1,5 years. Miss so much the unbereable crowds and the air full of smell of food. It's so easy to get me satisfied in some sense.
